The Iceberg Update Form separates the facts of a situation from the emotions. It encourages Forum members to look at events that have happened from an above-the-water (factual) perspective as well as a below-the-water (emotional) point of view. This helps Forum members evaluate both the event itself and the emotional impact of the event.
